The knitting looks a lot like last week, with the on my Drawing Sweater growing slowly, requiring attention to every single stitch and coming out looking amazing. I'm 8 rounds from splitting for the underarms, but since the colourwork continues after the underarms, so will the concentration.
Electric Village shawl also looks similar, but has two more stripes. Since the whole shawl is 10 stripes (four stripes to go) I predict we will be seeing it here on Wednesdays for another two weeks.
In reading I finished The Nix, and loved parts of it and couldn't stand some of it. I have very mixed feelings, except that I'm glad I read it and am enjoying ranting about the whole experience!
I'm listening to Lola in the Mirror by Trent Dalton. It's well written and well read but also feels like the plot is meandering and repetitive. Hopefully it will pick up it's threads again. It's certainly a good book to have in my ears while working away on the Drawing Sweater!
I'm reading a NetGalley review copy of Orbital, by Samantha Harvey. It's a book ostensibly about the inhabitants of the International Space Station (although I don't think it's ever named) this book is more like a poem. Lyrical, evocative, moving and beautiful.
This was my last review book for 2023. Next up I might read a romance book, it's been a while since I enjoyed a good romance and I picked up three in a recent "give away romance books for free" event. I would link to the event, but I don't remember what it was called. Good value though. I'm thinking Penny Reid's Homecoming King.
To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk.
I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. This week I'm also linking up with Sam from Taking on a World of Words to for WWW Wednesday where we talk about what we are currently reading, what we have just finished and what we are going to read next.
Your making good progress on your knitting projects, are they Christmas presents?
