Elise said to me that she might go to Cairns, in tropical North Queensland to visit her 10 YO cousin, who is from America and is currently doing her compulsory country work stint. I might go with her, it would be lovely to spend a week in the sun near the end of winter. By coincidence I'm reading Moonlight and Dust by Jasmin McGaughey a rather good YA fantasy set in Cairns!

It's a review book - the number of outstanding review books I have was starting make me feel uneasy. Next up is either my next review book The Last Apartment in Istanbul by Defne Suman or the Kobo Plus final book in the romance trilogy. The Stories We Tell by Charlene Carr. I'll get to both of them in one order or the other.
In audio I finished Hello Universe, It's Me: How I scheduled a breakdown and manifested a new life by Deepika Sandhu, which is meant to be the story of how Deepika became a new and better person, but it's like when your hot mess of a friend tells you about their life - what they think is happening and what I thought was happening was not the same. It was so bad it moved back into entertaining.
Now I'm listening to Pearly Gates by Bonnie Solomon , which has a very unlikely premise -(from the blurb) Deceased drag queen Pearly Gates has the worst job in the afterlife: cosmic sanitation worker. When her soulmate leaves her, claiming she’s incapable of growth, Pearly hatches a plan to win him back. By striking a deal to take over the caseload of a burnt-out spirit guide, she’ll prove she’s worthy of love—and redemption. It's charming and lovely and surprising in all sorts of ways. .
Of course I've been knitting. I've finished the back of my Wool and Honey jumper. I've changed the pattern so I'm not knitting garter stitch in the round. Garter stitch flat for the win!
And that's my week. I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. This week I'm also linking up with Sam from Taking on a World of Words for WWW Wednesday where we talk about what we are currently reading, what we have just finished and what we are going to read next.
Interesting sounding books. The shawl sounds good.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
