Re-entry from our holiday wasn't too bad, although it's only Tuesday as I write this. Luckily there is a public holiday on Friday. It's to celebrate the day before a football match, which makes no sense, but I'm not going to say no to a free day off.
After the felting of my jumper I started a mini-hot water bottle cover for Sally, my manager.
She is knitworthy - every Friday we go out to a coffee meeting and she always asks me what I'm knitting, and notices when I'm wearing something she has seen me knitting. She saw me in the office with my Kate Davies mini hot water bottle, and wanted a mini-hot water bottle. I ordered some on-line because we couldn't find any in person. Turns out there is a size even smaller than the mini-bottles - look how cute it is:
So, I've ordered some more, hopefully of the right size, and finished the cover for Sally's. I'm fairly tempted to design a case for the teeny one too, it's just maths, right?
Unblocked photo, and if you look at the second bottom row of diamonds, you can see me playing with colour dominance again!
I'm reading the second in the Murderbot series by Martha Wells Artificial Condition. They books are actually novellas, so a quick read, and I'll be finished by lunch time, but it's a really fun little series. And how fun is the cover:
And then I'm going to read a review copy of Still Come Home by Katey Schultz.
I don't love that cover at all!
I've had quite a good run of book recently, and I hope this is good too. I pick the review books I request carefully, but it's still more hit and miss than the rest of my reading. Still, sometimes I discover new to me authors who are brilliant, and free books are always a treat. I'll let you know next week how it goes.
And that's this week in my life. I'm linking up with Kat and Unravelled, which happens every Wednesday. I can be found on Ravelry as SharonDoubleKnit, and Goodreads as SharonDBLK or right here blogging away about knitting, books and whatever else I'm up to.

Oh my! Those hot water bottle covers are divine! I will be interested in hearing how you liked that review copy! I have had some hits but sadly, more misses in review copies.
ReplyDeleteI'll do a full review of the book here once I've finished, but it's definitly a hit!
