When I started naming these after the week of lockdown we are on, I didn't expect to get to week 23. We got our "roadmap" out of lockdown and it involves another three weeks of stage four and nothing much reopening until the 23 of November, and then only if we have zero community transmission. Needless to say everyone is feeling a little bit flat.
At the least the knitting and reading is going well.
The tights knit up remarkably quickly, and I love how they are looking:
That's ten days work, I have another maybe two days. It's still cool enough that I'll be able to wear them. Perfect workwear for these working from home times!
Reading has also been good. I received three free months of Kindle Unlimited with my new Kindle, and Elise recommend The Night Raven, by Sarah Painter.
It's the first in a series of four, urban fantasy detective novels. Urban fantasy is a genre that I don't always enjoy, but this is great - good characters, a slowly emerging back story and believable magic. The listening also shifted over to Kindle Unlimited books. I now this is starting to sound like an ad, but did you know that some KU books come with Audible narration? Roxanne Gaye tweeted that she had a new story out that was free through Amazon Prime, and I discovered that story was part of a series called the Out Of Line Collection, 7 stories by people including Cheryl Strayed and Kate Atkinson. They are all available on Kindle Unlimited with free Audible Narration. While not every story is to my taste, it's a fun sampler of a great bunch of (female) authors.
And that's my week. Now i need to work out what to cast on next. I've got some ideas for the next couple of months that are just coming together. I'll let you know more as they firm up.
As always, on a Wednesday I link up with Kat from As Kat Knits, where we talk about what we are reading, knitting and doing each week.

ReplyDeleteI love your tights, they are amazing!! I love patterned tights and I never thought to knit them for myself, what pattern did you use?
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Zimmermann's Nether Garments. Really straightforward, custom fitted, a very clever pattern.
