Yes, I've moved into "all review books, all the time territory" again. And everything I'm reading is SO GOOD. I finished Adama by Lavie Tidhar. It was a rather dark historical novel about the founding and growth of the state of Israel and the sacrifices and compromises made. I wanted something a little less epic and lighter and I was going to read a non-review book , but NetGalley was offering The Starfish Sisters by Barbara O'Neil, and her books tend to be so I'm reading that instead. It's very good, relationship based, found family drama.Everyone has secrets and it's all going to come out. And look at that cover!
Next up is another Jewish themed review book, A Book of Paradise, which was originally published in 1939 and is translated from Romanian, so that will be different!
I'm still knitting my mother's jumper. The yarn striped up completely differently on the second balls, and I have some thoughts about that, but I'll save that rant for another time. I've nearly finished the first sleeve, and am considering putting patch pockets on it. But now I look at this photo, maybe not.
To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk.
I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. This week I'm also linking up with Sam from Taking on a World of Words to for WWW Wednesday where we talk about what we are currently reading, what we have just finished and what we are going to read next.
I know that cover of The Starfish Sisters is gorgeous. I hovered over it this morning but decided I have enough to read, hope its good.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been busy with your knitting and reading. Have a wonderful week ☕📚🍁🌞💛
ReplyDeleteI've been in mostly review books with just a sprinkling of other books for a few weeks now with a couple more weeks to go. Your books look good and so does the jumper. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found some good books! I admire anyone who can knit. I don't have any artistic skills.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the reviews pile up and you have to get through a stack, or the new ones just look too tasty. Enjoy your reading!
