As I mentioned last week, mentioned last week, there have been a lot of novellas and short stories. I then read Traitors Purse, the next Albert Campion detective novel, which I loved, but it barely came in at 200 pages. I followed that up with Clary Sage a novella prequel to Victoria Goodard's Greenwing and Dart series. I mainly read that because I couldn't quite work out what to read. This morning I called in sick again - (I have this terrible cold that I just want to get better from, but also, it is just a bad cold) so when I woke up at 9am I started The Weight of Ink. I've really enjoyed the first chapter - and it's 700 pages long, so I finally get to settle in and really immerse myself in a book.
I don't need to think much about what I'm going to read next - it's a while away. I've got a couple of review books for the end of July, and I'm reading a Campion mystery every two weeks, but right now I'm going to enjoy this nice, long book.
In knitting I have also settled into a long project - the Pressed Flowers Shawl (yes, I've already made the hat and the cardigan. I'm a bit obsessed with this pattern).
We are going to Tasmania tomorrow for the Festival of Voices so I wanted a good long project to take my through that trip. Hopefully this cold will clear up, Tassie this time of year is chilly and we'll be spending some time outside.I'll be back on Monday to tell you all about the trip, I should have a good amount of time of knitting, and some time for reading I hope.
To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk.
I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. This week I'm also linking up with Sam from Taking on a World of Words for WWW Wednesday where we talk about what we are currently reading, what we have just finished and what we are going to read next.
I hope you get well soon. I'm always really bad with colds. Everyone else just gets over them, but they really floor me.
ReplyDeleteThat pattern is great!
I hope that you enjoy your trip and your long book!

I hope you are feeling better. Right now, I'd find a 700 page book very intimidating. I hope you enjoy yours. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMy book group really enjoyed The Weight of Ink - I hope you do, too! And if you're interested in joining my annual Big Book Summer Challenge, that one definitely qualifies!
