There is rain here in two senses - it has been raining rather a lot, intense summer storms, and I'm finally knitting Waiting for Rain. It's been a delightful knit so far ( except for the part where I couldn't read the directions and struggled to work out how short rows work. You'd think I was new at this!) There is something about knitting with my own handspun that is so delightful.
I'm still reading the Bringer of Stars. It's a good book. I can tell it's a good book, but somehow I can't seem to connect with the characters or somewhat overblown plot.It might be because I'm super-obsessed with crafting right now. While knitting and spinning I've been listening to the next Borderlines, the second in the Joe Gunther series. It's not the world's best detective novels. but i find them soothing (and free through Audible plus, which is a bonus.)
I'm up to the plying stage of Leon's Winter Set (2022) which is always a good time. I might even have a finished set of yarn to show you by the end of the weekend, although that might be overly ambitious. And that's my week in reading, spinning and knitting. To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk.I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. Thanks Kat and Kat for hosting these linkups.
Soothing and free are both good things
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
I've read the first Joe Gunther thiller, Open Season. I thought it was okay, and agree with you that it wasn't stellar - I think I gave it 3 stars. Is book 2 better? I've posted my update on my blog for Book Date Monday. Have a great week. - Lyn
ReplyDeleteNot really no. More of the same, really.
DeleteEnjoy your knitting! I haven't attempted to knit since I was a kid. It was fun, but I was really bad at it.
ReplyDeleteGreat week of reading and spinning! Thanks for sharing, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
