What a week it's been! As I mentioned last post, I got sick on Saturday night, and have been in my house with very little energy all week. I think because I am normally so active, I still had the energy for yarn-crafts and reading, just nothing more taxing.
I was part way through plying for the Traveller Shawl , which I finished. I love it, it's fluffy and pretty. the only problem is that it also only 550 metres, and I needed 800. Ooops, by "don't sample, don't measure" spinning style strikes again. I might make a cowl for Elise instead.
A couple of weeks ago I cast on a crotchet tea cosy for my mother-in-law. She has a rather odd shaped tea pot, so I was winging it a bit. despite my recent crotchet experience, I really struggled to keep my stitch count on this. The whole thing looked like a rag... and then I did the top, and it came together. I haven't finished it, since I think doing the final rounds with the tea-pot will make it fit better, and they live in Ballarat and we haven't visited for far too long. Anyway, here it is on our (different sized) tea pot).
I actually finished two pairs of socks as well. A pair for Leon:
These are the River Severn pattern from Knitty, designed by Brenda Dayne. A really fun knit. Then i used the leftovers to cast on a pair of sneaker liners for me:
Trap-a-zoid by Sarah Johnson. Another well written and enjoyable pattern.
