After last week's good, but heavy reading Kathy suggested I might need something light and fluffy to read and, rather unintentionally, that's exactly what I've done! I realised I had not one, but two review books due in the first week of May (oops) so I set aside my plans and picked up the first, Learning to Swim by Shayla Duggan.
It's a light and fluffy multi-generational family drama,. It's sweet and I just know that everything will work out, one way or another, for all. After this I have Early Sobrieties by Michael Deagar, and then I'm caught up with reviewing until the end of the month. Then I will return to my plan from last week, to read the next Albert Campion novel for The Summer of Mystery, Death of a Ghost. I'll check in next week and let you know if I actually stuck to that plan!In listening I've got Great and Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros. It's on Audible Plus (free!) and was recommended by Kat from As Kat Knits last week. It's a romance, it's hitting every trope and I am here for it.
It's got a great cover too.In knitting, I finished the cardigan I have been knitting for a full month (photos to follow on Friday), and cast on Andrea Mowry's Traveller Cowl for Elise. It's squishy and delicious and just needs one small seam to be finished.
Now onward to my test knit, another cardigan which you will probably be seeing for the rest of the month.
To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk.
I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. This week I'm also linking up with Sam from Taking on a World of Words to for WWW Wednesday where we talk about what we are currently reading, what we have just finished and what we are going to read next.
Early Sobrieties is a great title. Off to check out! #Bookdate
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to hear Rebecca Yarros speak soon, although I suspect it might be all about her dragon books. I am interested in reading more of her books at some point.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to enjoy a light book this week.
ReplyDeleteI always like books where things work out for most of the characters. I really enjoyed Great and Precious Things on audio.
