Yep, it's looking a lot like last week. I'm still reading the NetGalley Review book - The Last Apartment in Istanbul by Defne Suman. It normally wouldn't take me over a week to read a 400 page book. This is a good book - it's well written, and covers interesting topics, including life in an apartment building in Istanbul during COVID lockdowns, the persecution of Greeks in Turkey, gentrification and mental health. Unfortunate I'm finding it a bit of a slog, it feels like it goes over the same information repeatedly. I've nearly finished, and then I'll read Theory and Practice, by Michelle de Kretser, as planned.
I'm still knitting Wool & Honey, just the end of the second sleeve to go. Excuse the terrible photo. I took them this morning, just after I discovered that Tarragon had peed himself in his sleep, on the couch. I wanted to get the photos done and get out for a run before work, but first I had to clean up. So photos were not quite my focus!
and Beeswax Shawl with just a few more repeats added this week. That will be my focus over the next few weeks. And here's a photo of our poor old man with the shawl!
I've just started listening to Oliver Twist - somehow I've never read or seen this classic. It is also on my When am I reading? 2025 book challenge, which I have rather neglected. So far, so good, and it was free on Audible, which is always a bonus.
To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk. I'm on BlueSky as Sharondblk.
I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday, Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading.and Sam from Taking on a World of Words for WWW Wednesday where we talk about what we are currently reading, what we have just finished and what we are going to read next.
