And all I mean by that is that I am both listening to and reading thrillers (or murder mysteries, I'm not really sure what the difference is). I normally try to have different genres going, because it can get confusing, but it happened this way. In eye-reading, I addressed the oldest book on my Kindle - from August 2022 - The Family Remains, by Lisa Jewel. It's a sequel and has very mixed reviews. I was ready to read the first chapter and abandon, but I've actually found it quite compulsive reading, even if I'm not convinced that the plot makes any sense. It might help that I read the previous book in February 2022, so it's all a bit hazy.
I'm listening to The Ruin by Dervla McTiernan. It was the Audible free book of the month ages ago. I've listened to a couple of prequels and quite liked them. They are set in Ireland and the narrator is perfect except one of the characters is meant to be Irish who moved to Australia when she was 14 and I can tell you, that does not make you sound like a South African! It's more funny than annoying, and the plot looks like it might be quite twisty. I'm enjoying it so far.
Next up I'm going to avoid dead bodies and read a romance review book Was it Good For You? which has a fabulous cartoon cover, and I'm in the mood for a happy ending.
I've just started knitting the Rainbow Party Cardi by Stephanie Lotven. It's super cute and super simple, which is what I want from a holiday knit - we're going to Queensland on Saturday. The knitting is only a few rows in, so here is a picture of the yarn I'm using:
And that's my week in reading, and knitting.
To read my all my book reviews, and to see everything I knit, you can find me on Ravelry as Sharondoubleknit and on GoodReads as Sharondblk.
I'm joining in with Kat from As Kat Knits for Unravelled Wednesday and Kat from the Bookdate for It's Monday, What Are You Reading. Thanks Kat and Kat for hosting these linkups.
Those colors look fabulous together. I am currently listening to Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Not sure how I missed actually reading them all my life. I've certainly seen a lot of movies and programs! Be blessed, Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
