This year we stopped as Castlemaine Mill on the way up and lunch and bought wine, cheese and chocolate. Then Nat, Katie and I made our way to the super cute cottage where we stayed this year:
(Photo is from the Sunday morning, where we were exhausted and about to make our ways home!)
On Thursday night we had our traditional Thai dinner, to fuel us for the excitement that is Friday at the show. Amanda was there too - I'm not great at getting everyone in the photo.
On Friday the weather was perfect - blue sky and no wind. As usual we went to the Women of Wool lunch, had excellent food and interesting speakers. In yarn I only bought the mini's for the upcoming Stephen West mystery sockalong. In 'lifestyle' I bought all the things:
The stick in the middle is a nostepinde, although in this photo it looks like a magic wand. I love this stick. I'm hoping to use it for fauxlags, as well as making balls of yarn.Friday night we had pizza at Suzanne and Deb's and hung out, eating and knitting and chatting (and for some of us, drinking red wine).
Saturday dawned cold and clear, perfect for a run!
On Saturday I made up for the lack of yarn purchases on Friday:I only bought one thing that wasn't on my list, some beautiful green yarn from Fairfield Finns for a test knit I'm doing (Not pictured, they were in my handbag). I bought pretty much everything else on my list, except 4-ply to dye, and the yarn for an Andrea Mowry shawl. After my shopping frenzy, i gave my purchases to Katie and Nat to take home, and took myself off to look at sheep.
Sheep being sheared
And sheep just standing around
Saturday night was the traditional Richmond Knitter's dinner. this year we had a number of vendors from the show join us. It was load, joyous and we were all exhausted going in. instead of going home to bed, we went home and drank some of the delicious wine we bought on the way up.
Sunday morning we went to breakfast at the cute cafe across from where we were staying, and now I'm home, getting organised .
I'm off now to put all my yarn on Ravelry, so I can put it away. I'll pop buy tomorrow and post the stashcount number, and how I go with the nostepinde. Until then, here's a supercute corriedale sheep.
