I haven’t fully embraced sOctober since 2014. I’ve been knitting socks, but not in a focused way, since I have a drawer
full (that’s a lie, I have two drawers, one for sneaker liners and one for ordinary
socks. Leon also felt like he had plenty.
BUT Leon’s socks are all starting to get holes in them, and
while I’m darning regularly, some of them are not going to make it through to
summer. So, this sOcktober I’m going to
knit socks, socks and more socks. Might make the blog rather boring, but let’s
start this 31 days of sock madness.
First: I’m knitting Leon Slow Fade from Knitty. The pattern
is way overwritten (10 pages!) for such a straightforward knit.
Then I’m going to knit a plain pair of socks for my mother. She’s got tiny feet, so I should have enough left
for a pair of Rose City Rollers for me.
After that: if I have time I might make another pair for
Leon, or a pair for Jayne – although she asked for “as plain as possible, as
dark as possible” and I’m not doing that, so we’ll see.
