The plan for the long weekend was that a group of ten of us were going to Wilson's Promontory, to hang out, do a little walking and just relax. My personal plan was to finish the Bousta Beanie, take photos down there and then start some socks for Leon.
The weather was quite bad on Friday night, and ALL of out friends headed back to Melbourne at 8am on Saturday. Since, by then the weather was already beginning to improve, Leon and I hung around the Prom, and did some walking, in the intermittent sunshine.
We then headed to a town called Foster, which has a wool and craft shop. I always feel I should support these shops in tiny towns, so I bought a ball of sparkly self striping Lang
sock yarn, which is apparently what I do in small town yarn shops.
On the way home I finished my bousta beanie:
I'm very happy with this, it fits better than the previous one. I did the full number of repeats, lengthways, but took two repeats (8 stitches) out widthways. I ended up with 2.8 grams of the dark green - I tried to knit a blanket square out of that, and came up 4 rows short.
And finally, have a look at the prettiness that is the top of this hat:
