Linky Wednesday - the one before Bendigo

That's right, tomorrow I leave for my favourite weekend of the year - the Australian Sheep show.

I finished In Wonderland* by Joyce Maynard. It's a mediative tale told from the point of view of a 14-year old having a very different summer, a poor girl being a 'mothers helper' for a rich, but dysfunctional family and reflections on how it affects the rest of her life.

Now I'm reading  The Intrigue* by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. I'm a third of the way through. It's well written on a paragraph to paragraph basis, but i just don't care about any of the characters, or what happens to them. We have a failing scam artist, a bitter spinster and a frustrated young woman, and I'm completely not invested. They all deserve each other. I might not finish it, but I'll struggle on for a bit. 

After that, I'll be reading The Music Between You And I by Quiana Glide* an age gap, rockstar romance with a zany heroine. I hope the grammar of the writing is better than the grammar of the title. Sometimes I wonder what makes me request this books, although I do love the cover.

In audio, I LOVED  Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. I'm so excited that there are more of these books. Dark academia is a favourite of mine!

For reasons I can not explain (except that I loved Unreal) I'm listening to The Love Producer by Julie LaPlaca*, which is a memoir by one of the Bachelor producers. It's well written, but Julia lacks so much self-awareness that it sometimes seems to unintentionally melt into satire.

I have been preparing my knitting for Bendigo weekend by getting my Bendigo projects finalised. then I made a quick, cute set of hat and socks for a one-year old for charity. 

Then I made a hat out of handspun to match the shawl I recently made

I just need to do the crown, which is about 8 more round.

then I'll cast on my project for the weekend -  Primavera Socks to keep my hands, but not my mind, busy while I am away. As a bonus, the self striping yarn I'm using is by Dani - HalfBaked HandDyed, who is both a friend of mine and vending at the show.
